Introduction
Several years back Paddy supplied George with a 4-year-old Mitsubishi L200 Pick-up truck. George is a local carpenter and had always had pick-ups; mainly sticking with the L200. At that time, Paddy had a high spec ex-lease Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Auto with a full canopy on the back. Finished in black, it looked the part. However, the big draw was the full canopy. George realised he could do without his trailer most days and carrying his tools and equipment in the back knowing they’d be safely locked up.
Challenge
3 or 4 years passed and George got back in touch to ask if we could source him another pick-up with a full canopy. He was so pleased with the service and vehicle the last time around, he put his trust in us to find another suitable workhorse.
George is in his late 60’s but still working away. This pick-up was likely to be his last before retiring. Having always bought his vehicles, he wanted to continue down this path. The majority of our customers look at financing vehicles on Business Contract Hire or Personal Contract Hire but we also offer Hire Purchase and PCP on both new and used vehicles.
Our objective was to find a good value, low mileage pick-up with a full canopy and towbar. George also tows a caravan so was keen to get something high spec for those longer journeys and also preferred an automatic gearbox. Also having always had L200’s, if another brand came about, he would look at it as he fancied a change.
Outcome
Having searched the market and getting in touch with our wide range of contacts in the motor trade, we were able to source this approved used Ford Ranger Wildtrak which ticked all of the boxes. Most of all he loved the colour!
In the deal, George asked if we could take his Mitsubishi L200 as a trade in against the Ranger. We got several trade bids for the pick-up and we able to use this towards the deposit on the new one. We arranged the finance and had that all in place prior to the handover. On the day George drove the L200 up, dropped it off and jumped straight in to his new Ranger.
